How KNEKT Business Networking Works
KNEKT is a monthly networking group designed for business owners, partners and senior decision makers serving Warrington and the surrounding Cheshire area. The format is intentionally simple. One meeting a month, on a Friday afternoon, in a comfortable hotel setting, with a focus on genuine conversation between local business people.
This page explains exactly how meetings run, what is included in membership, how to attend as a guest and how KNEKT differs from other business networking groups in Warrington.
When and where we meet
We meet once a month, on a Friday, at the Village Hotel Warrington. Meetings run from 3pm and last for approximately two hours.
We chose Friday afternoon for a reason. Most other Warrington networking groups run early morning breakfasts or weekday lunches, both of which can be hard to fit around client work, school runs and the pressures of a busy week. Friday afternoon is a natural wind down point for many businesses, which makes for a more relaxed and productive room.
You can find the full list of upcoming dates on our Events page.
What happens at each meeting
Every KNEKT meeting follows the same friendly, easy to follow format.
When you arrive at the venue, you are greeted at check in and asked to share your business details. These details appear on a large screen throughout the event, so everyone in the room can see who is present and what they do. This is one of the reasons our meetings are so easy to walk into, even on your first visit.
The first part of the meeting is given over to informal networking with refreshments. You are free to introduce yourself, find familiar faces or simply listen in until you feel comfortable.
We then move into the structured part of the meeting. Each member has a short slot to introduce themselves and their business to the room. This is not a high pressure pitch, just a friendly introduction, and there is no expectation that you bring referrals or testimonials.
At around 4pm, the meeting sponsor delivers a short presentation, usually around 15 minutes, on a topic that is useful and relevant to other business owners in the room. Past sponsors have covered everything from finance and bookkeeping through to photography, social media and digital marketing.
The remainder of the meeting is open networking. You can move around the room, swap details and arrange follow up conversations. Afterwards, the full list of attendee details is emailed to everyone present, so you have a written record of who was there and how to reach them.
Membership
Annual membership of KNEKT costs £195 and runs for a full twelve months from the date you join. Membership includes:
- A guaranteed invitation to every monthly meeting for one year
- A personal introduction at each meeting
- A profile in our online Business Directory, with a link back to your own website
- Regular promotion of your business across our KNEKT social media channels
- Priority booking and sponsorship opportunities at our events
Membership is the simplest way to get the most out of KNEKT. Members are guaranteed a seat in the room every month, which means you can build genuine, ongoing relationships with the rest of the group rather than starting from scratch each time.
Attending as a guest
If you would like to come along before deciding whether to join, you can request a guest invitation through our request invite page.
Guest places are free of charge, but they are limited. Each meeting has a capped attendance, and members are always given priority. We allocate any remaining places to guests on a first come, first served basis, so it is worth registering your interest as early as possible.
How KNEKT is different from other Warrington networking groups
Warrington has an active networking scene, including the Chamber of Commerce, BNI groups, real5 Networking, Tricia Peters Networking for Business and the Warrington Business Exchange. Each has its own audience and approach.
KNEKT was created specifically for business owners who want:
- A monthly time commitment, rather than a weekly one
- A relaxed, conversational format rather than a strict referral structure
- Friday afternoon timing rather than early morning breakfasts
- A mixed sector room with no exclusivity rules per category
- A genuinely local focus on Warrington and Cheshire
We are not in competition with other groups. Many of our members attend more than one Warrington network, and we welcome that. KNEKT is designed to complement, rather than replace, whatever else is already working for your business.
